Title:

Applications for the Time Reversal Operator

Abstract:

In a distributed wave-based sensing system that probes an environment consisting of multiple interacting idealized targets, the iterative time reversal process which involves the recording of the waves at the sensors and re-transmitting the time reversed version allows for an arbitrary waveform to converge to a unique waveform. Its spectral characteristics are related to the resonance that arises from the target distribution. This talk will discuss how the time reversal operator relates the resonances to the objects to the scattered fields. A quick overview of a few various time reversal applications and the case for stationary and moving objects are discussed.
