Title: Orthogonal Exponentials on Fractal Hilbert Spaces


In this talk, we will begin by defining fractal measures by making use of the Hutchinson construction from a contractive iterated function system (IFS). We then describe the problem, initiated by Jorgensen and Pedersen in 1998, of finding orthonormal Fourier bases for the L^2 Hilbert spaces on such measures. We will describe recent results about the existence and characterization of such bases.
