Title:

Finding a Solution to Complete Urban Propagation Modeling in our Lifetime

Abstract:

Reliable communications within the urban environment requires accurate knowledge of the propagation losses between transmitter and receiver. Shooting and bouncing ray (SBR) simulations have demonstrated exquisite accuracy for predictable urban losses. However, calculating all arbitrary point to point losses within a moderate sized city would take several decades with standard techniques. We will present a few starting points for the applied mathematics community to make inroads to solving this important problem.
