Multiresolution Analysis and Certain Congugate Linear Isometries

Abstract:

The usual method for deriving an orthonormal wavelet from a scaling function for a standard dyadic multiresolution analysis can be viewed of as an application of a certain congugate-linear isometry [CLI] associated with the multiresolution analysis to the scaling function. This CLI approach leads to some intriguing mathematical questions concerning the extent to which it can be generalized.
