Title:

Unclouding pollution maps

Abstract:

We will present work by an interdisciplinary team based in the Honors College at the University of Houston on a responsive mapping platform for data analytics and environmental health. This work combines expert curation of environmental health data with information about air quality indicators using algorithmic tools to produce real-time risk maps. These maps allow users to traverse large and often obscure data troves and receive individualized feedback based on their activity and location.
